Lessons Learned

What we have learned during pandemic schooling:

  1. We have learned to utilize technology effectively in the classroom.

  2. We have embraced learner-centered instruction, a key lever to improving student engagement.

  3. We have learned new ways to give targeted support to students.

  4. We have learned to remove the little barriers that often stand in our students' way and have been forced to develop clearer, more explicit tasks.

  5. We have learned new ways to have students collaborate with each other.

  6. We have seen the positive impact of small class sizes.

  7. We have learned how amazingly independent our learners can be at a young age.

  8. We have given our learners authentic opportunities to solve problems and manage their own time.

  9. We have learned about the power of trust and the power of choice in the classroom.

  10. We have learned to develop stronger relationships with students and about the importance of strong SEL supports in the classroom.
